2026 Program Keynote Program: Dr. Phil Fanning “Conserving the Bees of the Orono Land Trust”

Dr. Phil Fanning has a BSc. and MSc. in environmental science, and a Ph.D. in Entomology, all of which he completed in Ireland, where he’s originally from. In the US, he worked as a postdoc at Michigan State University before moving to the University of Maine in January 2020. His lab focuses on managing invasive pests and studying the ecology and behavior of insects in agro-ecosystems. Additionally, he lab works on topics surrounding pollinator conservation and health.
